"La révolution libyenne" – LIBYE – from 19 to 26 march 2011
The submission includes three articles written in March 2011 from eastern Libya.
The first describes the exodus of residents from the rebel stronghold of Benghazi as government troops reached the city and began attacking it with tanks and airstrikes.
The second piece details the lack of equipment and training among the rebel forces we saw trying to face off against government forces.
The third piece describes the scene in and around the city of Ajdabiya after coalition airstrikes that ended a siege by government forces.
Sara Hussein has lived and worked in the Middle East and United States for the last 10 years, studying and reporting on Middle East politics, US foreign policy, security issues and human rights law.
